New York Vacation

Must See Attractions

I visited New York City for the first time last October and within a day I fell in love with everything in it. This bustling city is filled with things to do at all hours of the day and night, hence the nickname, “The city that never sleeps.”

Shopping in Chinatown is definitely a must see and do. You can pretty much find anything and everything on the streets of Chinatown and if your feeling adventurous, buy a knock-off Coach, Gucci, or Prada purse there, you would be surprised where they sell them. It will definitely be an experience you will never forget!

Going to see a musical on Broadway is something you won’t want to miss. Especially, being in Times Square at night where the beautiful lights fill the city. We saw “The Producers” and loved it! There are so many other choices to choose from including Wicked, Mama Mia, The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, and so much more. Just take your pick!

Word of advice: be sure to buy tickets ahead of time if the musical or play is fairly new because it will most likely be sold out by the time you get to the box office.

By far, one of my favorite places to go is Central Park. It amazes me that a beautiful park is placed in the middle of a busy city as big as New York. Sometimes if you take a stroll through the park or even a carriage ride you will forget that you are in the big city. It is a great place to go to escape from reality.

Where to Stay?

While you are visiting New York City, treat yourself to luxurious accommodations such as…

The historic Jumeirah Essex House, a top choice among midtown New York City hotels. Experience the beauty of Central Park while being surrounded by bustling New York City attractions. In fact, this Manhattan hotel was voted North America's leading hotel for 2007.

On your stay, enjoy the newly renovated guest rooms and top-of-the-line suites including a Manhattan or Central Park view from your room or suite. There are also extensive guest services at this fabulous hotel including restaurants and bars, meeting rooms, and tours. Rejuvenate yourself with the health spa services, massage treatments, and the steam bath provided. Take advantage of the fitness facilities and the jogging path with complimentary guest bicycles.
